With a 94% adoption rate of new transport solutions or policies, companies are moving beyond the traditional car to embrace carpooling, car sharing, and data-driven management.
The Arval Mobility Observatory's Global Fleet and Mobility Barometer 2026 is a study conducted by Arval, a leading mobility company of BNP PARIBAS. This 2026 report—based on 10,157 interviews with fleet decision-makers across 33 countries, including an expanded scope in Asia-Pacific (New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia, Thailand, and India, which now constitute a brand-new regional benchmark)—analyzes the decisive transition of companies and how they are shifting from expansion to optimization.
Below, we highlight some key points from the study:
Of the 94% of companies interviewed globally, 77% of European firms already have at least one mobility solution or policy in place in 2026, while 15% plan to implement one within the next three years. For 43% of the global companies surveyed, these changes are driven by Human Resources (HR) reasons. Shared mobility solutions are key: ride-sharing (carpooling) is the most popular option with a 29% implementation or future plan rate, followed by car sharing at 26%. Finally, mobility budgets (30%) and personal vehicle expense reimbursements (22%) show steady growth compared to the previous year.

According to the Arval Mobility Barometer 2026, fleet managers this year have a clear goal: to achieve smarter, more connected, and predictive tools to operate in an increasingly complex mobility landscape.
The study reveals a high demand for improving data-driven fleet performance management, led by automated vehicle monitoring and predictive maintenance. The highest expectations focus on improving real-time visibility of vehicles, routes, drivers, and deliveries, under the need for complete and transparent operational control. By seeking predictive and optimized solutions, the goal is to simplify daily operations, reduce risks, and improve efficiency. Companies are no longer looking for standalone tools, but rather intelligent ecosystems capable of boosting productivity for the future of mobility.
The order of priority for fleet management in 2026 is:
1. Automated vehicle performance monitoring and predictive maintenance.
2. Real-time vehicle tracking and monitoring.
3. Route and delivery optimization.
